Patrick Cruz is an artist and educator based in Toronto, Canada. He sees his works as emancipatory tools to remove embedded colonial frameworks and ideologies. Aside from this, his works are also informed by the intersections of clown philosophy, magic, and the occult. In researching for his works, Cruz employs meditation, divination, and hypnosis to uncover what he believes as hidden knowledge.

He has received the Thirteen Artists Award in 2021 and the 17th RBC Canadian Painting Competition in 2015. Currently, Patrick Cruz works in the University of Toronto Scarborough as an Assistant Professor in Studio Art.
