Paz Abad Santos, born in 1943, is a multimedia artist known for her works on textiles and objects found in nature. Pursuing art after 18 years of marriage, she would enroll in the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, where she would develop her style in art. By the time she graduated magna cum laude, she was also awarded Most Outstanding Student in Painting for her work Delirious Spin.

She engaged in indigenous subjects, forming a distinctive approach to depicting aspects of Philippine landscape and culture in a minimalist style. Working primarily with textiles and natural objects, Abad Santos explores materials and techniques traditionally associated with women, particularly those from tribal communities. Her artistic practice is characterized by a deliberate excavation of the origins of Philippine art, seeking to uncover the forms embedded within the collective unconscious of the nation. Furthermore, her work suggests a deep intertwining of the broader cultural consciousness with the personal psyche of the artist, challenging the notion of a clear delineation between the two realms.
