In line with the theme of International Museum Day 2024 focusing on “Museums for Education and Research,” Ateneo Art Gallery presents “An Artist’s Conversation with a Physicist and a Philosopher” on May 16, Thursday, 2:00 pm at the Ben Chan ArtSuite, 2F Ateneo Art Gallery, Soledad V Pangilinan Arts Wing, Areté.

In his most recent exhibition at AAG titled Void of Spectacles: Reflections on Passages Through Time and History, visual artist Mark Orozco Justiniani brings together works from his Infinity Series, presenting diorama-type assemblages that employ the use of glass and two-way mirrors to create illusions, effectively bridging art and science. In this ArtSpeak session, Justiniani will be joined by physicist Fr Jett Villarin and philosophy professor Dr Remmon Barbaza in exploring the intersection of art, science, and philosophy in creative practice.

In line with the theme of International Museum Day 2024 focusing on “Museums for Education and Research,” this ArtSpeak is part of a double-billed ArtSpeak with “Who do we write for?” Co-presented with the Kalaw-Ledesma Foundation, Inc. happening on May 18, Saturday, 2:00 pm via Zoom and at the Ben Chan ArtSuite, 2F Ateneo Art Gallery, Soledad V Pangilinan Arts Wing, Areté.

This program is organized in line with the exhibition Void of Spectacles: Reflections on Passages Through Time and History by Mark Orozco Justiniani on-view until 7 July 2024 at the Fredesvinda Almeda Consunji Gallery, Ambeth R Ocampo Gallery, Elizabeth Gokongwei Gallery, and Alicia P Lorenzo Gallery, 3F Ateneo Art Gallery, Soledad V Pangilinan Arts Wing, Areté.
