The title comes from the sort of nickname given to H.R. by fellow artists, who would in jest announce his arrival, thus, "Here comes unity, coherence, and emphasis!"
Rod. Paras Perez in his essay for the catalog "Hernando R. Ocampo: National Artist 1991" (Saturday Group of Artists in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, 1991), quoted this tenet from both H.R. Ocampo and from his artist friends, specifically in the context of art criticism sessions, where he would tirelessly call for the application of these three basic norms. What guided him as a writer continued into his path as a painter.
This ArtSpeak program is organized in line with “A Synergy of Ventures: The Postwar Art Scene,” featuring the Fernando Zóbel donation, on view from 15 September 2024 to 12 July 2025 at the UGF Ateneo Art Gallery, Mr & Mrs Ching Tan Gallery and Mr & Mrs Chung Te Gallery, Areté, Ateneo de Manila University.
