Beyond Odalisques: 19th Century Women Artists in the Philippines is a lecture that sheds light on artists that have been overlooked in history books, and on art loved and lost either to more prolific narratives, and to the rubble of post-WWII Manila.

Dr. Eloi Hernandez tackles institutions of the 19th century and how definitions of art and acclaim contributed to who would be remembered as artists.

This program is part of Highlights a lecture series presented by the Ateneo Art Gallery and the Lopez Museum designed to bridge the narratives of traditional and contemporary art forms in the Philippine context.

Registration Fee: PHP 200 Adults, PHP 150 Students, Teachers, Senior Citizens
