CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: ATENEO ART AWARDS 2025 FERNANDO ZÓBEL PRIZES FOR VISUAL ART
Oct 29, 2024
The Ateneo Art Gallery is now accepting early nominations for the Ateneo Art Awards 2025 Fernando Zóbel Prizes for Visual Art! File qualified exhibitions held between 2 May 2023 to the present via Google Form (https://go.ateneo.net/FZA2025)
Initiated in 2004 as an annual program by the Ateneo Art Gallery, the Ateneo Art Awards recognize fresh approaches to art making. Today, the Ateneo Art Awards has evolved into a contemporary art prize that has seen the rise of new visual artists and writers in the continuously growing art ecosystem through two prizes: the Ateneo Art Awards - Fernando Zóbel Prizes for Visual Art (FZA) and the Ateneo Art Awards - Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prizes in Art Criticism (PKL).
To further promote contemporary art practice and enrich the Philippine cultural landscape, the Ateneo Art Gallery and its partners give recognition and opportunities to Filipino visual artists below the age of 36 through the Fernando Zóbel Prizes for Visual Art. Additionally, the FZA is now a biennial program covering two exhibition cycles between May 2023-2024, and May 2024-2025. The Prizes are given to four (4) artists from a shortlist of twelve (12). Winners will be eligible for local and foreign residency grants funded by the Ateneo Art Gallery in partnership with artist communities in Baguio, Quezon, Zambales, Negros Occidental, Melbourne, Liverpool, Singapore, and Toronto. The selection of residency grant recipients will be made by the host institutions.
